MC-Bauchemie has implemented ANTEROS, a centralized PIM system, to efficiently manage product data, automatically generate data sheets, and ensure consistent global access to documents. Today, more than 25 national subsidiaries benefit from the central platform, automated processes, and fast access options. Introduction of MC-Bauchemie
MC-Bauchemie is a third-generation family-owned company operating internationally and is one of the leading manufacturers of construction chemical products and technologies. For over 60 years, the company has supported stakeholders in the construction industry as a reliable partner. What began in the Ruhr region has grown into a global corporate group. Today, MC-Bauchemie is represented in over 40 countries worldwide with more than 3,000 employees.
Marco Lombardo has been with MC-Bauchemie since 2012. He began his career at the company as a sales manager and is now Head of Business Processes & Digitalization, responsible for the further development and digitalization of business processes. In his role as project manager, he coordinates both the organizational and technical aspects of implementation on behalf of MC-Bauchemie.
Motivation for the ANTEROS Project
Before implementing the ANTEROS PIM system, MC-Bauchemie faced two key challenges: the efficient management of product data and the streamlined creation of documents. Previously, the numerous data sheets were created and edited manually using Word templates—a time-consuming process that was prone to errors. At the same time, changes were communicated to international subsidiaries via email, which often led to delayed information flow and outdated document versions.
Another focus was on centralizing product documentation. The goal was to make all documents available worldwide in a central portal, account for country-specific content, and improve the internal use of knowledge. The introduction of automated workflows and printing rules was intended to speed up document creation, reduce errors, and ensure compliance with the corporate identity across all organizations.
Global Use of the PIM System for Maintaining Product Data Sheets
The ANTEROS PIM system is now used by over 25 national subsidiaries of MC-Bauchemie. Each company translates the texts of the data sheets into the respective national language using DeepL, the AI translator integrated into the PIM, automatically generates technical documents such as data sheets or declarations of performance using ANTEROS’s Printengine, and adds national footers. The documents are then automatically published on the respective websites and portals.
Document creation is workflow-driven: data validators are notified before the document is finalized. Country-specific versions can be translated in parallel and generated via the national workflow. Existing products can be supplemented with national documents such as test certificates or brochures.
For safety-related data sheets, MC-Bauchemie uses ChemGes software. ChemGes generates the hazardous substance classification based on the formulation and keeps it up to date in accordance with national and international regulations. The safety data sheets are automatically uploaded to ANTEROS via an interface and assigned to the corresponding products using a mapping table. Information on the product type and the deactivation of products is automatically stored in the product families.
Marco Lombardo,
Head of Business Processes & Digitalisation at MC-Bauchemie
“The biggest winners are our international subsidiaries. They are no longer dependent on the information flow from headquarters or other production sites and can handle everything independently within the system. Via the dashboard, they can immediately see new versions, check for translation needs, and work completely autonomously. In just four years, we’ve rolled out the PIM system in 25 countries, and all of them now enter products, translations, and documents on their own.”
Document Portal Based on ANTEROS.mp
MC-Bauchemie uses the document portal as a central platform for managing and providing all technical and product-related documents.
There are two separate portals:
Internal Portal: For Sales and Technical Field Service (THD) to provide quick access to technical documentation
External portal: To provide customers with access to current documents
Searching and using the documents has been optimized through a three-step filtering system:
Rough sorting by continent: Only the countries currently available for each continent are displayed.
Country-specific language selection: Only the national languages of the respective country are available (e.g., Belgium: French, Dutch, English).
Document type and product search: Users can select specific document types and enter product names or part numbers. If no selection is made, the entire available product range is displayed, provided that documents are available in the desired language.
The results list is grouped by language. Users can select multiple documents, download them directly, compile a collection folder, or send them via email. In this way, the portal ensures fast, centralized, and targeted document delivery—both internally and externally—and streamlines the work of sales teams worldwide.
Product Knowledge Database based on ANTEROS.web
With its “Product World” platform, MC-Bauchemie provides all information related to its products in a global, internal knowledge database. This includes product descriptions, technical specifications, images, and documents. The platform is based on the ANTEROS.web module, which already offers many standard functions for searching, comparing, and displaying information and has been customized to meet MC-Bauchemie’s specific requirements.
Product World is available to all national subsidiaries and employees worldwide, ensuring access to up-to-date product information for all relevant departments. Login is via single sign-on, ensuring simple and secure use of the platform.

Structured Product Details Page
All relevant information is clearly organized on the product detail page. Next to the product image, a brief description, product specifications, and areas of application are displayed. Additional information such as technical documentation, test certificates, marketing materials, or complementary products is organized under the corresponding tabs.
In addition, the manufacturer is listed on the product detail page, making it clear which country the product originates from. This is particularly important because MC-Bauchemie manufactures at various locations, and the respective raw materials may require adjustments to the technical documentation. Furthermore, the platform enables direct contact with the product manager by allowing emails to be composed and sent directly from the product page.
Display All Documents and Document Folder
In Product World, all documents from every country subsidiary can be accessed centrally. They are clearly grouped by document type and can be viewed and downloaded individually. A particular highlight is the document folder. In addition to simple downloading, documents can be added to a personal folder via a separate button.
The document folder compiles selected content into a single document. Before generation, the brand can be selected, as products are marketed under different brands depending on the country. Within the folder, the order of the documents can be flexibly adjusted. The folder can then be saved and accessed at any time. Alternatively, it can also be created directly as a PDF file. Separate template pages are also available for different business units, each featuring a cover page with brand selection, an imprint on the last page, and a matching back cover.
Another advantage is the automatically generated table of contents. It is created based on the language and lists all included documents by name, type, and page number. It is fully linked, allowing users to jump directly to the corresponding section with a single click.
For easier navigation, each document also includes information in the footer regarding the document type, the associated product, the page number, and the date of the last workflow generation. This ensures that customers access only officially approved and up-to-date documents, rather than draft versions.
Conclusion: The ANTEROS PIM system is a real asset for MC-Bauchemie
Since the introduction of ANTEROS, MC-Bauchemie has been able to manage its product data much more efficiently and create documents more quickly. At the same time, the company ensures the global availability and quality of its information. Employees, subsidiaries, and customers alike benefit from the centralized structures, automated workflows, and user-friendly portals. The result is reduced effort, fewer sources of error, and higher service quality.
